The Harvest Thanksgiving service at Bognor Regis Methodist Church featured music and songs, a thought-provoking sermon, a short game of catch with vegetables, and ended with a wonderful shared lunch.
Led by Revd Tony Brazier, this year’s harvest service took place on Sunday 6 October 2024. In the run up to the day, worshippers were encouraged to ‘bring a guest’. It was lovely to welcome people’s friends and families to morning worship and to the lunch afterwards.
The church was decorated with multi-colour felt leaves and window displays showing the different types of harvest, ranging from the garden to the field.
Traditional harvest gifts of food and fresh foods were also collected and will be taken to the Bognor Regis Foodbank. Thanks for all the donations.
Thank you to everyone involved in making it a special service and a lovely lunch, and to Revd Tony Brazier for his enthusiasm and idea behind the service. With the use of onions, potatoes and green beans, the minister shared the importance of praying for all those involved in growing vegetables and other food crops. Worshippers had fun catching the beans as he threw them around the church to help illustrate the message about how we all are part of the harvest.
