The CAP Partnership Story
As Methodist churches in the Bognor area, Bognor Regis, Felpham and Westergate Methodist Churches have partnered with five other churches in the area to fund a Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Debt centre for the area.
In Summer 2022, after a period of change and transition following the pandemic, we felt God challenging us to be ready to look outward and support our community. Just as we did, the opportunity to partner with other local churches in re-establishing CAP Bognor came up, and it felt like God’s perfect timing and an opportunity not to be missed. In December 2022 the partnership began, followed by a launch celebration in March 2023 where representatives from the partner churches came together to celebrate the launch of CAP Bognor and pray for the CAP Bognor team.
We are excited and feel privileged to be part of this partnership which will help tackle poverty and debt in our local community, and bring opportunities to bring people into Christian community and discover the love of God we can know in Jesus.

What is CAP?
CAP stands for Christians Against Poverty. CAP have a vision to release people from poverty through their award-winning programme of debt counselling and community groups. They work to equip and empower local churches to demonstrate the love of God practically, enabling them to reach their communities with the message of the gospel whilst tackling poverty head on.

CAP Bognor Regis
CAP Bognor Regis runs a debt centre helping clients needing debt recovery support, walking with them to manage budgets, repay debts, and become financially stable. The centre also runs a CAP Life Skills group. Six local churches have partnered to establish and support CAP Bognor.
