We are delighted to host this local and published historian, Cliff Mewett, who has a vast and fascinating knowledge of Sussex history. This will be an enjoyable evening delivered in Cliff’s trademark style of bringing history to life. He will share anecdotes and memories of the town of Bognor Regis. Cliff is author of the books ‘Bognor in the Great War’ and ‘Sussex at War 1935-45’, and a number of other titles and articles.
Cliff is a Sussex enthusiast and has lived in the area his whole life, which has fostered his fascination with its history. Born in Hastings, his career was split between the Prudential and the Post Office, following time and commissioning in the armed services.
Tickets for the history talk are only £5 and will include light refreshments. Tickets are available on the door at Bognor Regis Methodist Church, off Waterloo Square, Bognor Regis, West Sussex PO21 1ST. More information and ticket reservations are available via the volunteer organising team on 07738 661191.
Earlier in 2025, Cliff gave a talk on the history of the Bognor Regis Methodist Church in the town. His talks are in the events during the church’s centenary of mission, outreach and community at Waterloo Square.
This is a fundraising event for Bognor Regis Methodist Church. Circuit charity no : 1139998. Thank you to Cliff for his support of the church and this latest event, and the organising team.
